Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. John 3:5
You cannot get around this fundamental truth. There's no way out of it, there's no way above it. There's no debating or arguing about it. There's no if's, ands, or buts. That's just the way it is. You MUST be born again. I don't care if you loved God and you did all you can for Him. If you're not born again you're not going to Heaven. A lot of people want to take an easy road to Heaven but I'm telling you, there is only one road and it's through Jesus.
It's a pity to see people who believe that they have a place in Heaven when they don't. If they died today, their souls would be lost. They have so much confidence in their belief that they're going to Heaven. They have so much faith that their 'Good Works' will get them to Heaven. They earnestly look forward to going to Heaven and if we don't tell them this fundamental truth soon, they'll be lost.
Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews, came to Jesus at night and asked Him 'What must I do to inherit the Kingdom of God.' Jesus answered and said, 'You must be born of the water and of the spirit.' Jesus is saying the same thing to you. If you've been told otherwise, look into your scriptures and realize the truth Jesus spoke. There's no easier way, that's the way and it's plain and simple.
But what does it mean to be born of the water and of the Spirit? To be born of the water means to be immersed in water ( in the name of Jesus Christ) according to Acts 2. To be born of the Spirit means that you need a baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire. Your pastor cannot give you this baptism, only Jesus can. But you have to ask Him. You may not know much about this baptism, but you need it or you cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Ask diligently, and He will pour out His Holy Spirit on you. You will speak in new tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. Don't worry about what this baptism is, just know that you need it and you can receive it.
You must be born again. It's a necessity to see the kingdom of God. You will perish if you have not been born again. Give up your doctrines today and harden not your heart. Listen to Jesus' voice, He's telling you 'You must be born again' Don't worry about what your church leaders told you; the word of God says 'You cannot see the kingdom of God, except you be born again.'
Dear S Daniel,

These different ways of talking about being "born again" describe effects of baptism, which Christ speaks of in John 3:5 as being "born of water and the Spirit."
In Greek, this phrase is, literally, "born of water and Spirit," indicating one birth of water-and-Spirit, rather than "born of water and of the Spirit," as though it meant two different births—one birth of water and one birth of the Spirit.
In the water-and-Spirit rebirth that takes place at baptism, the repentant sinner is transformed from a state of sin to the state of grace.
Peter mentioned this transformation from sin to grace when he exhorted people to "be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:38).
