Holy Ground

And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest [is] holy ground. Exodus 3:5

What do you do when you're in the presence of the Most High God? God said to Moses, "Take off your shoes because the place where you are standing on is Holy Ground." Are you standing on Holy Ground? If so, what must you do? When one takes off their shoes they are showing reverence and a sense of respect. They take off their shoes because they acknowledge the sacredness of the place where they dwell in. They recognize the fact that they dwell in the same room of Almighty God - thus they must show Him respect.

These people however, unlike us today, did not have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. They could be in the presence of the Holy Ghost but ultimately the Holy Ghost was not in them. There was a veil between man and God; they could not see His face. But we have the indwelling of the Holy Ghost in us so we are always in the presence of God. When you go to a church or a temple, (I hope) you treat it with respect knowing that it is the house of God. What about you? Don't you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, also? So please treat your bodies as though you know that you are the temple of the living God.

Now, in the presence of the Holy Ghost you bow down and worship Him. Not simply because of what He's done for you but because of who He is. He is a consuming fire and it is an awesome thing to be in His presence - on Holy Ground. So you being the temple of the Holy Ghost must also walk like a child of God. Hold your head up because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. This God that you serve is almighty and all powerful. If He dwells within you then you also have power. Don't let the cares of this world get you down but always have a cry of worship in your mouth. He has been so good to you; wherever you walk and wherever you are you must always think upon God. Think of His goodness and give Him praise for that. Bow down and worship Him.

"Consuming fire, sweet perfume, His awesome presence fills this room - this is Holy ground so bow down and worship Him."
