His name is not vain!

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9

A lot of people mindlessly use the name of our Lord Jesus in vain. What they don't realize is that there is power in this name that they take for granted. They use the name of Jesus in all kinds of ways, addressing all kinds of situations. They use His name as a curse word. From what we hear about the name of the Lord in the Bible we can conclude that this name is powerful and it is sacred. The Bible says that the name of the Lord is a strong and mighty tower, the righteous run into it and are saved. Thinking about all that the Bible says about the name of Jesus you should know that this name should not be used in vain.

The Bible says that those who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. When we call on Jesus He answers. In Acts chapter 4 verse 12 the Bible tells us that there is "no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved." Based on that you can conclude that there is much authority in the name of Jesus. There is much power. Things happen when you call upon the name of the Lord; He answers when you call Him. But don't use His name in vain. God is merciful and He's able to forgive you but realize that His name is sacred. The next time you use His name as a curse think about what you're really saying.
