And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son. Matthew 2:13-15
The angel, which means messenger, of the Lord came to Joseph in a dream and told him to take Mary and "the young child" to Egypt and stay there until "I bring thee word." I put emphasis on those words, "Until I bring thee word." Each of us have to stay in a place for protection from the enemy. The devil wants to destroy us. So, God puts us in a certain predicament for a certain amount of time and He says to stay there until He brings word. He didn't say to stay there until you became tired or bored, but until He brings word. You must be obedient to the word of the Lord and stay where He puts you until He says it's time to move.
Joseph was obedient to God's word. He didn't question but immediately he got up and fled to Egypt. Sometimes we question God when He speaks. We ask "God is this really you?" or "Lord, do I really have to do this?" We don't act on His word immediately. God wants obedience from us. He wants us to follow Him and trust Him. God sent His Son, Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of the Earth. He also came to give us a relationship with Him. If you want a relationship with God you need to trust Him.
God will never leave you of forsake you; If He puts you in the wilderness, He's going to be in the wilderness with you too. You don't have to fear for abandonment, because He's always with you. Sometimes God is silent. You pray day and night and it seems like He's ignoring you. There are four common ways God answers prayers: (1) sometimes He says 'yes' (2) Other times He says 'No" (3) Sometimes He says "Wait" (4) And sometimes He is silent. If you don't hear God, don't worry and don't lose hope. Just wait for Him, because He knows what He's doing. You are His child and He loves you dearly. He will never leave you in any situation that will not benefit you. Yes, you'll be hurt and He'll allow it but it's for your improvement. So, if you're crying out to Jesus and you don't hear Him speak just wait and do not lose hope. He's right with you.
Be obedient to the word of God, and trust in Him with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. God knows what's best and He will do what's best for you. If He tells you to "flee to Egypt," do it. God loves you very much and whom He loves He also chastises.
